Running and Walking Exercise
Could Help You Feel Better.
Maybe, A Lot Better!
For
individuals who are depressed,
or who have low energy,
starting an exercise program
seems like the last thing to do.
Ironically, regular exercise is one of
the best things for improving mood.
A
regular program of aerobic exercise
can alter the body chemistry enough to decease
and sometimes alleviate depression.
Exercise increases the oxygen supply to the brain,
which restores a relaxed, yet more alert,
and less tired antidepressive state of mind.
In addition, exercising on a regular basis
helps to structure the day and provides
a sense of control that helps
reduce feelings of helplessness.
Studies which have been and are being conducted indicate that repetitive movement aerobic exercise, such as walking or running, initiates increased production of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin production is also fueled by the consumption of carbohydrates. Low serotonin levels are often associated overweight problems as the individual develops a craving for carbohydrates which fuel production of serotonin. Weight loss is a frequent side effect of serotonin reuptake inhibitor drugs such as Prozac, Paxil, etc. and the nutritional supplement, 5-HTP. With higher, more stable serotonin levels, the individual's craving for carbohydrates decreases, and weight loss occurs.
ORBITER treadmill
has a higher workload
which can accelerate
the metabolism and weight loss,
while protecting the
body.
Orbiter walking,
jogging and running
cardio exercise

without the trauma
associated with high impact exercise
and overuse syndrome.
